Support stories for and by the next generation of Asian voices
The next phase of Cold Tea Collective will be to transition from a volunteer-driven organization to a sustainable independent news organization that provides paid career development opportunities for emerging Asian journalists and other media professionals.
To do this, we need your help. We’re looking to raise $15,000 over the next month so we can support our operations and team to keep doing this important work.
With your help, we will also be able to invest resources into new content such as more frequent publishing of articles and our newsletter, new podcast series and videos to tell the stories of our generation. We’d also like to plan events for the community to connect with and learn from one another.
Help spread the word
If you’d like to help us amplify our mission, see our corporate fundraising toolkit including images, sample text and other resources to share and encourage your organization to donate to Cold Tea Collective.
The future of Cold Tea Collective depends on our community
We’re working to become a community-powered publication and we want to raise $15,000.
To kick this off, we are asking for your support of our first-ever large fundraising campaign to help support our operations, team members, and continue to do important work in amplifying, inspiring and empowering our community.

Will my contribution be considered a charitable donation for tax purposes?
No. We don’t have charitable status, so we can’t provide you a charitable tax receipt.
Will our organization be recognized as a corporate donor? If so, how?
- Yes, we will include your organization’s name in a follow up article to thank you for your support for donations greater than $500 (in total between employees/members and the matched amount).
- For donations over $2500 (in total between employees/members and the matched amount), your organization will be recognized in a special newsletter to thank donors in addition to inclusion in our article.
- For donations over $3500 we will also do a LinkedIn post specifically to thank your organization including a short quote from a leader within your organization as to why you supported our cause in addition to our article and newsletter mention.
*Please note that we are only able to do this for donations received within the month of May 2022. While we are gracious for the support all year-round, please inquire with tiffany@coldteacollective.com for more recognition opportunities for corporate giving throughout the year.
Is there a minimum amount you require for donations/how to match?
There is no minimum donation, however please see above in FAQ #1 regarding corporate donor recognition.
Can our organization make a donation without a matching program?
Yes, absolutely! For donations over $500 we request that you reach out to us directly to coordinate rather than using our online donation page. Please contact Tiffany Fong at tiffany@coldteacollective.com.
Will you be providing reference materials or resources to help us promote this cause within our organization?
Yes, please check out our Fundraising Toolkit for helpful resources including messaging, graphics, and examples of content that your employees or members might be interested in to help them decide how they wish to support, and for promotion within your organization.
What specifically will our funds be used for?
With your help, in addition to providing payment to our volunteers (ie: turning volunteers into freelancers), we will also be investing resources into new content such as more frequent publishing of articles and our newsletter, new podcast series and videos to tell the stories of our generation. We’d also like to plan events for the community to connect with and learn from one another.
What are the mechanics of the matching program – how do we know how much employees/members of our organization are donating and how do we match their donations?
Please inquire about this with Tiffany Fong at tiffany@coldteacollective.com
