Gold House and Kargo support the next phase of growth for Cold Tea Collective with the launch of the Gold Publishers and Multicultural Content Amplifier Programs.

Industry leaders Gold House and Kargo support the next phase of growth for Cold Tea Collective and AAPI publishers

For nearly eight years now, Cold Tea Collective has been working to center the stories and voices of the next generation of the Asian diaspora. This week, we announce our participation in two innovative programs to further our growth and sustainability: ‘Gold Publishers’ by Gold House; and the ‘Multicultural Content Amplifier (MCA)’ Program by Kargo.

Gold Publishers accelerates the growth of Asian Pacific-owned publications through access to exclusive Gold House members and events for incremental content opportunities, community education and training, as well as ad tech infrastructure support and ad revenue through Kargo’s Multicultural Content Amplifier.

“Our mission is to tell stories that empower the next generation of the Asian diaspora to live their most authentic and fulfilled lives,” shares Cold Tea Collective’s founder, CEO and Executive Producer, Natasha Jung. “The Gold Publishers and Multicultural Content Amplifier Programs will allow us to grow our publication while also connecting with and reaching wider audiences and clients; this gives me confidence in the future of our business and our industry.”

Founded in 2016, Cold Tea Collective has been largely volunteer-run up until the last year. More opportunities to meaningfully partner with brands and community have supported its transition to working with paid team members across North America to make it viable to be an Asian-diaspora journalist and for more publishers to pursue sustainable growth. Strategic partnerships have been instrumental in creating more opportunities.

Partnerships drive the success of the Multicultural Content Amplifier

Gold House has been an instrumental facilitator of this relationship and new program development. “Affirming and authentic storytelling requires empowering and amplifying diverse storytellers, and we can’t wait to read all the stories that the Multicultural Content Amplifier will power,” says Rose Yan, Vice President of Marketing at Gold House.

Having recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, Kargo understands the importance of leading change for the advertising, marketing and media industries. “All marketers have to understand that embracing diversity is good for business growth. Diverse content helps attract more customers, and we are making the advertising and marketing community more inclusive…Shifting our investments today shapes the abundance of advertising opportunities tomorrow,” says Jeanine Shao Collins, Chief Client Officer at Kargo.

Strategic investments with program partners will support Cold Tea Collective and its fellow publishers access to industry events, incremental revenue opportunities and more. This support signals a change in the media landscape and where brands are investing their dollars – into diverse audiences.

“Kargo and their publisher partners give us the ability to reach the diverse content creators and audiences we want to connect with. We want our media to fairly represent our customers and our values, and with Kargo, we can move closer to achieving our goals,” said a program partner.

The MCA program also actively works to support the voices of other diverse media publishers, including equalpride and PinkNews.
