Dominique is a the daughter of Chinese Filipino parents who immigrated as settlers to Canada from the Philippines. As the first in her lineage to be born outside of Asia, her diasporic roots have taken hold in Richmond where she now teaches in the same neighbourhood she grew up in. Dominique holds a degree in Asian Canadian studies which informs her work as a humanities secondary teacher. Outside of work, she spends time cultivating a list of the best ranked fried chicken places in the world or obsessing over storytelling archs.
